Barista/Cafe Attendant (Hakuba)

We are seeking positive, friendly and efficient staff, to work within our Café Teams for SkiJapan.com in Hakuba, Japan. You MUST have exceptional service/barista skills with a passion for coffee, cooking and cafe culture.
POSITION
Barista/Cafe Attendant
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to make consistent, exceptional coffee
- Assisting in food preparation/cooking
- Preparing and serving various beverages and food items
- Maintaining high levels of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation
- Accurate sales recording and careful cash handling
- Assisting in maintaining inventory, stock and requisitions
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/ TRAINING:
- Previous cafe/barista experience
- Barista trained and a passion for coffee
- Operating and handling fully manual espresso machines
- Cooking/food preparation experience is an advantage
- Cash register (POS system) and cash handling experience

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Needs to be English speaker, Business level or higher
Other language skill are not essential, but welcome
VISA:
- Working Holiday Visa required for this position.
REMUNERATION PACKAGE:
Hourly rates will be discussed at interview
- Staff accommodation available
- Lift pass using SJ corporate discount (refundable upon completion of contract and with a clean disciplinary record)
EMPLOYMENT DATES:
- December 2026 – 31st March 2027 (Full Season)
- December 2026 – 28th February 2027 (Short-Term)
As with any seasonal work, hours and dates of work are snow and customer dependent. Please understand that you are required to be flexible with work dates and hours.
Start date and end date can be discussed at interview. We can be flexible.
WORKING HOURS:
Full time, 5 x days per week
You will be contracted to work an average of 30 hours per week throughout the winter, though this will be higher in peak season (late-Dec to mid-Feb) and lower during quiet times.
