NBS FRONT DESK & RESERVATIONS CONSULTANT
NBS is seeking enthusiastic, confident, and friendly English and Japanese bilingual staff to fill short and full season positions for the upcoming 2024/25 winter season. If you’re on Uni Holidays or want to spend the season riding the world’s best powder then Niseko Base Snowsports is the company for you!! Guest service experience is required.
NBS Front desk is the forefront of our entire operation acting as a customer service agent to all guests whether they are renting skis from our rental shop or booking a lesson with one of our qualified instructors.
Previous Snowsports school experience along with exceptional customer service skills and attention to detail are key attributes for success in gaining employment as an NBS Front Desk consultant.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Meeting/Greeting Guests at NBS front desk
- Responding to guest email inquiries
- “In resort” rental and snowsports school reservations
- Some roles will include “out of resort” reservations
- Handling cash, taking payments, processing credit cards, balancing tils
- Scheduling snowsports school instructors for lessons
- Assisting with lesson meeting areas and splits
- Answering the phone and assisting all resort guests
- Dealing with guest complaints and misunderstandings
- Providing guests with key local information and sharing local knowledge
- Promoting all NBS and SkiJapan.com services
- NBS office presentation maintenance and snow clearing
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/ TRAINING
- Qualification/Experience in Snowsports School front desk and instructor scheduling
- The ability to speak a 2nd language (Japanese/Cantonese/Mandarin)
- Experience using a snowsports school rostering program such as Waldhart, RTP, and Smart Chart etc.
- Level 1 snowsports instructing qualification
- Front Desk/Reservations/Customer Service Experience required
- Personal customer service experience (Face to Face)
- Travel/tourism experience
- Cash/Credit Card Processing/Handling

- Strong computer skills (typing/emailing, excel and word)

- Ability to represent NBS to the highest standard at all times
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
- English is a MUST
- Secondary Japanese/Cantonese/Mandarin language skills are preferred but not essential
VISA REQUIREMENTS
- Must have or be eligible for a Working Holiday Visa
SKI/ SNOWBOARD ABILITY
No previous ski/snowboard ability is required, however some experience is preferred.
REMUNERATION PACKAGE
- Hourly rates will be discussed at interview.
- End of season bonus upon contract completion and meeting of requirements
- Discounted season lift pass
- Reimbursement of season lift pass upon contract completion and meeting of requirements
- Subsidised staff accommodation available
EMPLOYMENT DATES
Short Term Contract: Late November – Mid February.
Full Term Contract: Late November – Late March
Blended Reservations Contract: Early/Mid November to Late March
As with any seasonal work, hours and dates of work are snow and customer dependent. Please understand that you are required to be flexible with work dates and hours.
WORKING HOURS
5 x days per week
Average of 35 – 40 hours per week during peak season. You can expect to work reduced hours during the first and last few weeks of the season.
