NBS SNOWSPORTS SCHOOL ASSISTANT

NBS is seeking enthusiastic, confident, and friendly English and Japanese bilingual staff to fill short term season position for the upcoming 2024/25 winter season. If you’re on Uni Holidays or want to spend the season riding the world’s best powder then Niseko Base Snowsports is the company for you!! Guest service experience is required.

NBS snowsports school assistants are the keys of our entire operation acting as go to for any tasks that revolve around the school. Whether its driving guests, helping with a beginner ski lessons, assisting with kids lunches, keeping staff area clean, managing our social media, its a role that has everything.

Previous Snowsports school experience along with exceptional customer service skills and attention to detail are key attributes for success in gaining employment as an NBS Front Desk consultant.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting the kids supervisor with managing kids group lessons
  • Setting up the school area in the morning
  • Social Media, posting daily on the NBS instagram
  • Meeting guests and taking them to their instructor
  • Helping with any instructor needs, such as a child bathroom break and crying child
  • Assisting with our beginner lessons, helping with the 5-7 year olds, helping manage the group with the instructor
  • Assisting with kids group lesson lunches
  • Helping kids lesson supervisor with scheduling instructors and kids into groups
  • Driving guests
  • Cleaning staff areas and kids areas
  • Shovelling snow
  • Providing guests with key local information and sharing local knowledge
  • Promoting all NBS and SkiJapan.com services
  • NBS office presentation maintenance and snow clearing

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/ TRAINING

  • Experience in a kids environment
  • ECE
  • Social media background
  • The ability to speak a 2nd language (Japanese/Cantonese/Mandarin)
  • Experience using a snowsports school rostering program such as Waldhart, RTP, and Smart Chart etc.
  • Personal customer service experience (Face to Face)
  • Travel/tourism experience

    LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

    • English is a MUST
    • Secondary Japanese/Cantonese/Mandarin language skills are preferred but not essential

    VISA REQUIREMENTS

    • Must have or be eligible for a Working Holiday Visa

    SKI/ SNOWBOARD ABILITY

    No previous ski/snowboard ability is required, however some experience is preferred.

    REMUNERATION PACKAGE

    • Hourly remuneration 1300-1500 JPY/Hour
    • Personal Hirafu/ Hanazono Lift pass
    • Subsidized staff accommodation options

    EMPLOYMENT DATES

    Contract: Early December – End of February

    As with any seasonal work, hours and dates of work are snow and customer dependent. Please understand that you are required to be flexible with work dates and hours.

    WORKING HOURS

    5 x days per week

    Average of 40 – 45 hours per week during peak season. You can expect to work reduced hours during the first and last few weeks of the season.
